Album Review: "Revolver" (The Beatles)

The Beatles
An insight into “Revolver” (1966)

“Revolver” (1966), was the sheer essence of these four gifted English musicians. The songs included in this album are incredibly full of enthusiasm and love. That is, they made the pervasive feeling of love, some- thing to enjoy and share with the world. Also, “Revolver” has a particular tempo in its songs that makes the listener think about love as delight and amusement, and not as the deep sad romanticism that is so common in romantic music; “I want to tell you”, “Good day sunshine”, and “Got to get you into my life” are unquestionable proof of this joyful view. This album makes you want to jump and click your fingers while you are singing them, as you think of your loved one, instead of sitting next to a window watching the rain, immersed in deep feelings of nostalgia.

This album has the well known influence of American rock and roll, in which Bob Dylan is so perceptible, but it definitely has the Beatles’ personal mark, which leads them to adopt a more pop like tinge for their musical work. The results were fantastic, as they sort of created a new musical style. I consider the world longed to have some of this, as rock and roll was the king back at that time.

I believe The Beatles could have been highly influenced by the socio-cultural peace & love atmosphere of the 60’s and 70’s. When you listen to this album, you can easily perceive the trace of rock still present in the music of these three. I think that anyone who lives love very serenely and romantically should definitely listen to and love this album!
